October 2015 – net worth and expenses

What a month! I’m very pleased with my trading results. So far 2015 is my best year ever.

• brokerage accounts 244.2k (+31.2k)
• etfs 2.6k (+0.8k)
• cash 6.4k (-9.1k)
• alternative investments 32.9k (+0.5k)
• taxes -17.7k
• total 268.4k (+17.8k)

I transferred 10k from cash to a brokerage account, so the real gain is about 21k. Back in September I reached my yearly goal. I set a new target, which I almost hit this month. I’m really curious how the rest of the year plays out.

October is our most expensive month so far (and both November and December should be lower). We were on vacation and I bought some software for the stock market. If I remove these items, the expenses are normal. For the full year we are no track to spend 36k. I’m pleased with that number.

I did not feel so well in the past few months. The only thing I posted here was the monthly net worth report. In the future I would like to post at least one additional article in between. I’m still missing an update on my “Escape 9 to 5”.
